Entry Table ∘ Spring 2023

I’ve learned so many valuable lessons from my mom over the years - I could probably write a novel filled with them. Interior design has always been her strong suit and something she still gets excited about with a contagious passion - just ask anyone who has been in her home, its warm, welcoming and thoughtfully decorated.

Something I learned early on from her, is that decorating for each season, even the slightest change in decor, can bring the changing season indoors. It’s like magic really, it got me excited for each season to see how she would change things up. She often used the same decor year after year, occasionally finding something fresh to bring in from outside.

She also didn’t decorate the whole house, as a mother of 3 homeschoolers she used her time wisely. I can think of 3-4 (depending on the season) very small areas in our home on which she would rotate seasonal decor. Our coffee table, a small wet bar, a short bookshelf, and in the summer - our wood stove, would all display little seasonal treasures that reflected what the weather declared outdoors.

Here’s how I’ve chosen to adapt what I’ve learned from my mom: I currently have 3-4 spots in our home (depending on the season) that I decorate seasonally, our coffee table, dining table, living room shelves and entry table. If I have flowers, I love spreading them all throughout the house, but its usually just our coffee table or entry space.

I LOVE decorating our entry table for each season, I try to make the changes minimal and simple by slowly collecting a few decor items for each season and bringing them out when the time comes. Then all I have to do is move things around, and reinvent the space to look new and inviting! The above is what our entry table looks like this spring - I got almost everything at HomeGoods.

Below are ways I have decorated our entry space in the past, you can also search the hashtag #reiffwelcome on Instagram to find them there and all future setups I share in the future.
