4 Outfits With A Cotton Gauze Shirt

I added my first cotton gauze item to my closet two Summers ago with a white version of this button down, and I can easily say it’s been one of my most worn pieces! This shirt is $44.90 and it’s from One Quince. Linked here.

Similar to linen, cotton gauze has a natural classic, shirred texture that keeps it looking casual while the cotton makes it extremely lightweight and breathable, so its perfect to pair with from Spring to Fall.

On hot summer days or those late Spring moments when its chilly in the morning but warm by the afternoon - a cotton gauze shirt makes a great third piece to layer with.

I love wearing mine open over tank tops and t-shirts, that way I can easily tie it around my waist if I get too warm, but I’m not unprepared for those “I might need a jacket” times. I wore it that way around Disney last May.

I can’t wait to wear variations on this outfit in the Fall, I love navy and I love my black jeans but I had no idea what an amazing match the two would be together!

A cotton gauze piece is one of those chameleon items that can be transformed depending on what you pair it with. I have an affinity for closet work horses that can do a lot but only take up one slot in my hanging space - this shirt is a great example of that.

Lastly, you can totally dress this shirt up with the right pieces. I brought the shirt into a pony tail and tied it with an elastic, then tucked in underneath and into my bra to stay. You’ll also notice that with these 4 outfits are also 4 ways to wear ANY button down shirt, I never want you to think you have to make a purchase in order to have a new outfit, always shop your closet first!
